ABOUT US >

The Down Syndrome Group Northamptonshire Charity was set up over 20 years ago by a group of parents who all have children with Down Syndrome.

 

Our charity has nearly 90 families as members and we see ourselves as a support group for new and existing families and also helping our members with Down Syndrome to live full and rewarding lives.

 

We currently support our members with speech & language therapy sessions in schools and further education.

 

We have a weekly ‘sing & sign’ group and a monthly ‘babble’ group, which therapists attend for our younger members from birth to school age to advise on speech & language, occupational therapy & feeding advice.

 

We continually plan outings and events throughout the year, to include day trips, cinema afternoons, summer bbq’s, Christmas parties and the pantomime.
